Coffee Enemas - Here is the scoop!
Back in the day, I could never wrap my head around the idea of cleansing and detoxifying, I always thought the body was capable of doing that naturally on its own. And yes, this would’ve been true over a hundred years ago, but today, unfortunately, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The reality is, we live in an advanced modern world where we’re exposed to more toxins than ever before - in our water supply, food, environment, personal care products, clothing and the list goes on, all of which get filtered through the liver, the lifeline of the detoxification system. As many of you know, my healing journey truly began out of desperation to heal my chronic cystic acne. Acne, more often than not, is usually a result of an accumulation of toxins in the body. When our liver is overburdened from all of the toxins, the body will try to eliminate through different routes i.e the skin, the largest organ of the body.
So what exactly does the liver do?
The liver produces bile, which acts as the trash truck for our liver. The liver filters out the blood of all toxins, excess hormones and fat soluble waste, which later gets dumped into the bile. Then bile enters the small intestines, where it goes through the digestive process, but as soon as it reaches the end of the small intestines about 95% of that toxic bile gets recycled and returns back to the liver. This is all due to the standard America diet and the way we live in this modern world.
Yes, we’re living longer, but as a society we are getting sicker and sicker, and I believe this has a lot to do with our toxic load. Over the years I have learned the importance of detoxification, hence the reason why coffee enemas have become such a major part of my life and regular detox routine. Coffee enemas have truly taken my healing to the next level.
So why coffee enemas?
Coffee does an incredible job in detoxifying the liver and gallbladder. As the coffee is taken in rectally, it goes through the intestinal walls and travels through the hemorrhoidal vein to the portal vein and then right into the liver. Then the caffeine and the various compounds in coffee open the bile duct and flush stagnant toxic bile from the liver and gallbladder into the intestines where it can be eliminated from the body in the form of a bowel movement. Since old stagnant bile is being eliminated and not recycled, this signals the liver to produce new clean bile, increasing bile production.
Additionally, an added benefit of coffee enemas is the increased production of glutathione, the bodies master antioxidant and powerful detoxifier that people pay good money for when purchasing glutathione in the form of a supplement or IV drip. Research shows that coffee enemas boost glutathione by up to 700% after just one enema!
Along with clearing out the bile duct and boosting glutathione production, coffee enemas are also great for ridding the body of parasites (which most of us have, but that’s a topic for another day), excess candida and toxic mold. This detoxification modality is truly one of my favorites, as it’s an extremely easy and inexpensive way to thoroughly and effectively rid the body of toxins. All you need is an enema bag or bucket, which you can purchase off amazon for less than $30 and a high quality, organic, mold free coffee which you can be purchased for under $20.
For all of you skeptics out there, coffee enemas were noted as a treatment in the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy, the oldest medical textbook used as a primary reference for physicians, for years up until the mid 1970’s. Why were enemas removed from the Merck Manual you ask? I’ll give you a hint - BIG PHARMA! But that’s a whole other topic that we’ll have to save for another day!
If this post resonates with you and you’re interested in reducing your toxic load, I cannot recommend coffee enemas enough, but obviously be sure to consult with your doctor. Also, I’d love to hear if this is something you’re willing to try or have already tried! I want to hear about your experience in the comments below. Thanks for geeking out with me! Sending you all lots of love!
Happy detoxing!
